Pacific Energy is a New Zealand-based consultancy specialising in energy, electrical infrastructure, and decarbonisation projects where technical, commercial, and network challenges intersect.

About the Founder

Perry Hutchinson
Founder

With more than four decades of experience across the energy, infrastructure, and industrial sectors, I founded Pacific Energy Ltd in 2014 to provide independent, vendor-neutral advice and help organisations make confident, commercially sound energy and infrastructure investment decisions..

My career has spanned power generation, renewable energy, water and wastewater, manufacturing, logistics, and large-scale industrial projects throughout New Zealand and internationally. This breadth of experience allows me to understand both the strategic drivers behind major investments and the practical realities of delivering them.

I hold a Master of Engineering Studies in Renewable Energy and a Master of Business Administration (Technology Management), combining technical expertise with commercial and strategic insight. My work ranges from feasibility studies and business cases through to concept design, procurement, commissioning, and operational optimisation.
